Where Are We Today?



VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
DONOR AIDE


POSITION: Donor Aide - Bethlehem/Allentown/Reading sites
SCHEDULE: Shifts are varied each day with most shifts being three to four hours in length. Some people prefer to have a regular weekly/monthly shift while others prefer to be on call.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Donor Aide at our fixed sites will:
  • Chat with donors to make the donation time a pleasant experience
  • handle tubes of blood collected from donors seal blood packs
  • deliver blood packs to the component room or refrigerator.
  • alert and assist the collections staff in case of donor reaction.
TRAINING: Orientation and training provided by staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a minimum of fourteen (14) years old and willing to complete the required orientation and training.



POSITION: Donor Aide - Bloodmobiles
SCHEDULE: Start times will vary according to the mobile destination site and the length of the mobile. Bloodmobiles usually vary in length from four to eight hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Bloodmobile donor aids:
  • Chat with donors to make the donation time a pleasant experience
  • handle tubes of blood collected from donors
  • alert and assist the collections staff in case of donor reaction.
TRAINING: Orientation and training provided by staff.
