Welcome from the President

Quality combined with cost savings are the driving forces of our organization. Each day, our employees continue in their efforts to promote our mission of providing programs and services at quality and cost levels that will help our providers meet the constantly-changing challenges of the healthcare industry.

Hospital Central Services, Inc. & Affiliates (HCSC) was founded in 1968 when a group of prominent Lehigh Valley (PA) business and civic leaders determined that a shared laundry service would benefit the residents of the surrounding areas by eliminating duplication of costs and services. The area's first centralized healthcare laundry facility opened in 1970, serving 10 area hospitals.

Throughout the years, our goal has always been the same: complete customer satisfaction. Leading the way are our dedicated group of 1,400+ employees, and our 150+ volunteer board and committee members. Thanks to their generous donation of time and talent over the last two decades, HCSC has seen our membership base expand to over 450 healthcare facilities in the mid-Atlantic region, who utilize many of the programs and services offered through our laundry and linen services, group purchasing and blood banking divisions.

Our site is maintained by a committee made up of public relations and information systems departments, as well as representatives from each HCSC business unit. The site is updated regularly, so that our customers - past, present, and future - are assured of getting information in a timely manner.

In the coming years, HCSC will continue in its endeavors to preserve and strengthen our relationships with our customers, employees and community organizations in this rapidly changing world... because while our directions may change, opportunities remain, and we will continue our pursuit of being the best.
